Alejandra is a first-generation high school graduate, college graduate, and law school graduate. Alejandra received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree at Lewis University majoring in Philosophy of Law and Psychology with a minor in Political Science. She then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree with a concentration in International Human Rights Law. Prior to joining Godoy Law Office, Alejandra worked with the National Immigrant Justice Center, Commissions of the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Court First District, and the UIC School of Law’s International Human Rights Clinic.

As a daughter of Mexican immigrants, Alejandra commits to serving the Latinx/ Hispanic immigrant communities with a level of understanding and empathy that she takes as a central role as a legal advocate. As a native Spanish-speaker, Alejandra hopes to provide legal services that make her clients feel heard and understood. At Godoy Law Office, Alejandra works in a variety of cases including citizenship, adjustments of status, VAWA, U Visas, T Visas, Asylum, and consular processing. Helping immigrants is a passion of Alejandra’s. Because of her background she has seen how imperative it is to bridge the gap for access to justice for immigrant communities.
