Experience and Background
Nicholas Camargo graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2009 with a degree in Political Science and then cum laude from St. Thomas University Law School in 2013. He began his career as an immigration attorney in Miami, Florida, focusing primarily on deportation defense and asylum for three years, representing clients in ICE facilities nationwide.
After a year in insurance defense, Nicholas returned to immigration, working for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for seven years. Within the Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations branch, he served as an interviewing officer, conducting over 500 asylum and credible fear interviews, and as a supervisory officer, reviewing over 1000 cases. From 2022 to 2023, he was responsible for all credible and reasonable fear cases in the South Florida Area of Operation. In 2023, he joined a headquarters team dedicated to resolving issues in local offices.
Since leaving the government in 2025, Nicholas has continued to specialize in immigration litigation, leveraging his extensive experience to prepare clients for USCIS interviews and individual hearings before immigration judges.
