The U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery is Now Open for the 2025 Fiscal Year
Registration opens October 4, 2023 – November 7, 2023, for the FY2025 Diversity Visa lottery to grant Green Cards to more than 50,000 randomly selected people from around the world. The “Green Card Lottery” was established in 1990 and annually awards up to 50,000 United States Legal Permanent Resident Visas to applicants whose country of origin has had low immigration rates to the U.S. in the last five years. The program’s goal is to diversify the immigrant population in the United States. 20 million people apply for a Diversity Visa every year.
Lottery winners are randomly selected based on their country of origin and will be announced beginning May 2024 via the Entrant Status Check link on the Diversity Visa webpage
