To immigrate to the United States, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has set certain medical requirements. They insist applicants complete Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. They also require a medical exam and a series of vaccines to qualify for a green card and other immigration benefits from outside the United States. Applicants who refuse these medical requirements or have the required vaccinations and do not qualify for a medical waiver may be denied a green card or other immigration benefits.
At the time of an individual’s required medical exam for immigration purposes, a civil surgeon or U.S.-approved panel physician will assess whether a vaccine is not medically appropriate. And U.S. government agencies have been instructed to accept this assessment from the medical doctor “unless that finding is clearly wrong.” The current required vaccines are:

Medical eligibility is a requirement for admission to the United States, and failure to provide the required information may cause delay or denial of immigrant visas. Form I-693 is only valid for two years from the civil surgeon’s or panel physician’s signature date. Due to the backlogs and many delays caused by the global pandemic, many people choose to schedule their medical exam after receiving their green card appointment.
Note: USCIS has extended the temporary waiver requiring a civil surgeon to sign your Form I-693, Report of Medical Examanation and Vaccination Record, no more than 60 days before you file Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, until March 31, 2023.
