Do you want to become a U.S. citizen – but you’re unsure if you are eligible? The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently launched a new naturalization eligibility tool to help individuals determine if they can apply for citizenship through naturalization. The naturalization eligibility tool displays data on lawful permanent residents (LPRs) who may be eligible to naturalize. It also provides statistics on who is eligible to apply for naturalization by birth country and location and can be filtered by various characteristics. The Eligible to Naturalize Dashboard uses data based on people who obtained LPR status since 2010 but have not filed a Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, to become a U.S. citizen.

The USCIS naturalization eligibility tool only evaluates if the applicant is eligible to apply for naturalization. It does determine if you are actually eligible for citizenship.
An experienced immigration and naturalization attorney can help you determine if you are eligible for naturalization and, if not, what steps you may be able to take to qualify for U.S. citizenship through naturalization.
