Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot reminded residents that an undocumented status or a lack of money shouldn’t prevent anyone from getting tested for COVID. In Chicago, every resident can get a free COVID-19 test at city sites. Any resident who had recent high-risk exposures, including close contact with many other people in a large group or gathering should get tested.
Free COVID-19 tests are being provided within the City of Chicago. The tests provided through this program are mouth swab tests that do not require assistance. At this time, testing is limited in Chicago to people who meet certain screening criteria.

• You will be asked to complete a series of online questions
• You can schedule your COVID test by entering your email and a location in your neighborhood and a test time will be emailed to you
• If you do not want to submit an email address, you will be instructed to call (312) 746-4835 to schedule an appointment over the phone.
The City of Chicago has partnered with a third party to process your test kit and deliver your results. Your health information will be protected by all applicable laws.
On April 7, 2020, Mayor Lightfoot signed an executive order “explicitly ensuring that all benefits, opportunities, and services provided or administered by the City of Chicago are accessible to all residents, regardless of birth country or current citizenship status.”
